Look magazine called Glens Falls "Hometown U.S.A." back in 1944, and the downtown still runs on that: a walkable main street, the Hyde, Harding Mazzotti Arena, and now a guitar shop on the second floor of the old shirt mill on Lawrence Street. Why Buy Your Martin From an Authorized Dealer

Martin's Limited Lifetime Warranty covers a new Martin only when it's bought from an authorized Martin dealer in the U.S. or Canada, and only for the original owner. We're an authorized dealer, so a new Martin from our wall carries it, whether you buy it in the shop or through our online listings. A new Martin from a seller who isn't an authorized Martin dealer doesn't, wherever it's listed. The warranty can't be transferred, so a used Martin, including one from our wall, doesn't carry it. The Little Martin carries Martin's one-year limited warranty instead, so keep the receipt.

Martin covers the case, the tuning machines and factory-installed electronics for one year from purchase. The warranty doesn't cover wear parts such as frets, the nut, the saddle and strings, action adjustments, or cracks from humidity or temperature outside Martin's recommended range. Martin doesn't offer an international warranty, so a Martin bought here and taken outside the U.S. or Canada has to come back to an authorized service center in the U.S. or Canada for warranty work. Register the guitar with Martin and keep the receipt: Martin's FAQ says there's no 30-day deadline, but registration is necessary for warranty service at an authorized Martin service center, and shipping the guitar there is on the owner. If something goes wrong with a new Martin you bought here, start with us, and we'll help sort out whether a return, exchange, repair or warranty claim makes sense.

Body Size First, Specs Second

The biggest decision in a Martin purchase is body size. A dreadnought projects hard; a 000 is tighter and more focused, and better for fingerstyle. The OM is the 000 body on the longer 25.4-inch scale, and Martin says scale length is the only difference between the two. The D-18 Satin and the 000-18 on our wall are both spruce over mahogany, but the D is the bigger body on the 25.4-inch scale and the 000 is the smaller one on the 24.9-inch scale, and they're completely different guitars. You figure this out by playing them back to back. Plan an hour if you're seriously comparing.

Specs are Martin's, for one model in each line; other models vary. Prices for every model on our wall are in the list above. The Standard, 15 and 16 Series use a dovetail neck joint, and the Road, Junior, X and Little Martin guitars use a mortise-and-tenon joint.

What Comes With It

Every new Martin comes with a case or a gig bag, depending on the line. The Standard Series guitars on our wall come in a hardshell case, a molded hardshell on the D-28, HD-28 and OM-28. The 17, 16, 15, Road, Junior and X Series come in a softshell case, and the Little Martin comes with a gig bag. The 16 Series has L.R. Baggs Element electronics, the Road, Junior and X Series have Martin E1 electronics with a built-in tuner, and the Little Martin has Fishman electronics. The Standard, 15 and 17 Series guitars on our wall are acoustic: the 000-17E ships without a pickup, and Martin lists electronics as an option for it. Humidifiers are sold separately, and we carry them.

Standard Series

The Standard Series is Martin's flagship line: all solid wood, with dovetail neck joints and X-bracing. On our wall: D-18 Satin, D-28, HD-28, 000-17, 000-18 and OM-28. Inventory rotates, so call first if you're coming in for a specific Standard Series model, and we'll hold it for you.

16 Series

Martin refreshed the 16 Series for 2026. Every model is all solid wood, with a dovetail neck joint, L.R. Baggs Element electronics and a softshell case. Three are on our wall: a J-16E Jumbo in Cream with East Indian rosewood back and sides, a DSS-16E slope-shoulder dreadnought in Cherry Cola on a 24.9-inch short scale, and a 00L-16E in Blue Denim. Prices and specs for the whole line are in all five 2026 Martin 16 Series models, with prices, and the ones in stock hang on the Martin 16 Series page. To order a GPC-16E, a Grand J-16E 12-string or another finish, call or text; when Martin has it available, it usually arrives in 1–2 weeks.

15 Series

The 15 Series is all-solid mahogany with a satin finish and a softshell case, and Martin offers electronics as an option. A mahogany top gives a warmer, drier voice than spruce, with less top-end sparkle and more midrange. On our wall: the 00-15M, and the 000-15SM with a 12-fret neck and a slotted headstock.

Road Series

Martin splits the Road Series in two: Retro models with classic Martin styling, and Modern models built for contemporary playability. Every model has a solid top with scalloped X-bracing, onboard electronics and a softshell case. On our wall: the D-10E Retro and 000-10E Retro, the OMC-10E Modern Burst cutaway, the D-13E Retro Walnut, and the Jason Isbell 0-10E Retro signature model.

X Series, Junior Series and the Little Martin

The X Series is the biggest Martin line on our wall. Martin builds it with HPL (high-pressure laminate) back and sides, which it says help protect against humidity and temperature changes, and with Martin E1 electronics and a built-in tuner; models with solid wood tops also get wood fingerboards and bridges. On our wall, the D-X1E is HPL top, back and sides with a Richlite fingerboard and bridge, and the D-X2E, 00-X2E and GPC-X2E have a spruce top with a wood fingerboard and bridge; the D-X2E is $100 more than the D-X1E. The Junior Series puts a smaller body on Martin's full 24.9-inch scale, with Martin E1 electronics, a built-in tuner and a softshell case. The Little Martin is one of Martin's smallest guitars, on a 23-inch scale, and comes with a gig bag.

Humidity

Upstate New York winters are brutal on acoustic guitars. Heated indoor air drops humidity hard in January and February, and solid-wood guitars show the damage. We see this every spring. Martin's humidity bulletin lists what low humidity does: sharp fret ends, a sunken top, cracks. Martin's care guide recommends keeping a guitar at 45–55% relative humidity and 72–77°F, checked with a hygrometer, and Martin's FAQ says damage from conditions outside that range isn't covered under warranty. The FAQ adds a room or case humidifier in the colder months, and the guitar in its case when you're not playing it, away from heat sources, air vents and direct sunlight, and the care guide says to avoid hanging a guitar on an outside wall in winter. We sell the humidifiers and walk you through it at pickup. If humidity management isn't something you'll actually commit to, we'd rather talk it through before you buy. A setup to your preferences is $79 standard, $109 deluxe (the one we usually recommend) or $99 specialty for 12-string and classical, strings extra; the full list is on repair and setup pricing. Where We Are

We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls. The building went up in 1902 as a men's shirt factory and made shirts until 1996. Today it's home to more than 70 studios, shops and galleries, and now a guitar shop. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up.

Glens Falls is a bustling little city that's growing more and more every day: lots of culture, food and natural beauty. The Shirt Factory is the heart of the East End arts district.
