Guitar Cables in Glens Falls, NY
Guitar cables in Glens Falls: Paul's Guitar Hideout is right here in Glens Falls, on the second floor of The Shirt Factory. Nearly forty cables from Ernie Ball, Fender, MXR, Pig Hog, and Strukture, $8.99 to $59.99, in a range of lengths.
Look magazine called Glens Falls "Hometown U.S.A." back in 1944, and the downtown still runs on that: a walkable main street, the Hyde, the Civic Center, and now a guitar shop on the second floor of the old shirt mill on Lawrence Street. If you're already downtown, we're a five-minute walk from Glen Street.
Where We Are
We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls, one of the more interesting buildings in the region. It's a converted 1902 shirt mill that's become a hub for artists, makers, craftspeople, and independent businesses. Painters, photographers, woodworkers, jewelers, and now a guitar shop. The building has a creative energy that fits what we do. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. If stairs are difficult or you're bringing in something you don't want to carry up, call or text us and we'll arrange access.
Cables We Stock
Ernie Ball, Fender, MXR, Pig Hog, and Strukture, from short patch lengths up to long stage runs, including coiled cables. A cable is the least expensive thing that fixes a crackling rig, so it's the first thing to swap.
When It's Not the Cable
If a new cable doesn't kill the crackle, the output jack usually will. Loose jacks are a repair we do constantly, and a quick one. Bring the guitar in and we'll check it. More on guitar repair.
The Drive
We're downtown. Park in the Cooper Street lot at The Shirt Factory and take the Cooper Street entrance up to the second floor.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where in Glens Falls are you?
A: 71 Lawrence St., inside The Shirt Factory, second floor. Cooper Street entrance, up the stairs.
Q: What length guitar cable do I need?
A: Ten feet covers a bedroom or a small stage. Fifteen to twenty if you move around. Keep patch cables as short as the pedals allow.
Q: My guitar crackles when I move. Cable or jack?
A: Try a known-good cable first. If it still crackles, it's the output jack, and we fix those at the shop.
