Paul's Guitar Hideout is a guitar shop in Glens Falls, NY. It's the only dedicated guitar shop in Glens Falls itself. We sell used and vintage guitars, and new Fender, Squier and Martin guitars as an authorized Fender and Martin dealer, from a $199.99 Squier to a $3,899.99 Martin as of November 6, 2026. We also do repairs, setups and lessons. The shop is on the second floor of The Shirt Factory at 71 Lawrence St., open Wednesday–Sunday, 12–5 PM. Stop in during shop hours, no appointment needed.

Look magazine called Glens Falls "Hometown U.S.A." back in 1944, and the downtown still runs on that: a walkable main street, the Hyde, Harding Mazzotti Arena, and now a guitar shop on the second floor of the old shirt mill on Lawrence Street. If you're already downtown, we're about a ten-minute walk from Glen Street.

Where We Are

We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls. The building went up in 1902 as a men's shirt factory and made shirts until 1996. Today it's home to more than 70 studios, shops and galleries, and now a guitar shop. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. The building runs between Lawrence and Cooper Streets, and the address is 71 Lawrence St. The easiest place to park is the Cooper Street lot.

Glens Falls is a bustling little city that's growing more and more every day: lots of culture, food and natural beauty. The Shirt Factory is the heart of the East End arts district.

The Most Common Guitar in Glens Falls

The most common guitar that comes through the shop is one that's never been set up. Bought a few years ago, played for a while, put down, picked back up. The action is high. It feels stiff. It's harder to play than the player remembers, so they assume they got rusty. Usually they didn't get rusty. The guitar drifted out of adjustment and nobody told them that's a thing.

A standard setup is $79, strings extra, and most of the time it's the difference between a guitar somebody plays and a guitar that sits in a corner. If you've owned the guitar for more than a year and it's never been to a tech, that's the first conversation to have when you come in.

The gap from Squier Affinity to Classic Vibe is bigger than the gap from Classic Vibe to Player II, and we'll tell you that in person. Repairs and Setups

We do guitar repair and setups at the shop: fret work, electronics, nut and saddle work, tuner replacement, pickup installation and structural repair. A setup done to your preferences is $79 standard, $109 deluxe (the one we usually recommend) or $99 specialty for Floyd Rose, 12-string and classical guitars, and banjo and mandolin setups are $99. Strings are extra on every setup. A guitar or bass restring is $25 plus strings, and you're welcome to bring your own. A: It's the most common thing we see. Wood moves over time, action drifts, and frets and nut slots wear. A $79 setup, strings extra, usually makes the guitar feel like a different instrument.

A: Yes, if you qualify. At checkout you can use Shop Pay Installments or PayPal.

Q: Do new guitars from here come with the maker's warranty?
A: Yes. A new Fender or Squier bought here carries Fender's two-year limited warranty for the original buyer, and a new Martin carries Martin's Limited Lifetime Warranty for the original owner, or one year on the Little Martin.
