Guitar Accessories In Glens Falls, NY

Guitar accessories in Glens Falls: Paul's Guitar Hideout is right here in Glens Falls, on the second floor of The Shirt Factory. Capos from Dunlop, Ernie Ball, and Martin, $17.99 to $31.49. As of October 25, 2026, 36 straps are on the wall from Ernie Ball, Fender, and Martin, $8.99 to $79.99, in leather, suede, nylon, and cotton. Strings, picks, and cables each get their own page: strings, picks, cables.

Look magazine called Glens Falls "Hometown U.S.A." back in 1944, and the downtown still runs on that: a walkable main street, the Hyde, Harding Mazzotti Arena, and now a guitar shop on the second floor of the old shirt mill on Lawrence Street. If you're already downtown, we're about a ten-minute walk from Glen Street.

From the Wall: D'Addario PW-CT-27

Chromatic clip-on tuner, full-color vertical display, auto power-off. Power: rechargeable, about 24 hours per charge, USB-C. For guitar, bass and other headstock instruments. We carry the D'Addario PW-CT-27 - Eclipse Rechargeable Headstock Tuner at $24.99.

Strings, Cables, Tuners and More

We keep the everyday stuff in stock. Strings, picks, straps, cables, tuners, capos, humidifiers, and the small things that keep you playing. If you need something today, there's a good chance we have it here at the shop in Glens Falls.

We carry guitar strings for acoustic, electric, and bass. If you're not sure what gauge or brand makes sense for your guitar, come in and ask. We'll point you in the right direction.

We stock the basic accessories most players end up needing sooner or later: cables, straps, tuners, capos, and picks. If yours broke, got lost, or just stopped working, you can replace it here without waiting on shipping.

If you play acoustic guitar in Upstate New York, humidity matters. Adirondack winters are dry, and wood moves with the seasons. We carry humidifiers and other practical accessories that help keep guitars stable through the dry months. A lot of acoustic problems start there.

If you're looking for a basic pedalboard piece or a Boss pedal, you can try them here at the shop in Glens Falls before you decide.

Inventory changes, but the goal is to have the essentials here when people need them. If you want something specific, call the shop and we'll tell you what we have before you come over.

Where We Are

We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls. The building went up in 1902 as a men's shirt factory and made shirts until 1996. Today it's home to more than 70 studios, shops and galleries, and now a guitar shop. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. If stairs are difficult or you're bringing in something you don't want to carry up, call or text us and we'll arrange access.

Capos We Stock

Dunlop, Ernie Ball, and Martin. A capo that clamps unevenly pulls the strings out of tune the moment you put it on, so it's worth trying one on your own guitar. Bring it in and test before you buy.

Banjo Players

A regular capo handles the first four strings. For the fifth, we install railroad spikes at the frets you choose, $49. Details on the repair and setup pricing page.

Straps We Stock

Ernie Ball, Fender, and Martin: nylon and cotton at the everyday end, suede and full leather at the top. A strap is the one accessory you should try on with your own guitar, because a heavy guitar on a thin strap and a light guitar on a wide leather one both feel wrong within a set. Bring the guitar and put it on your shoulder.

Strap Buttons and Locks

Acoustics that came without a second strap button, buttons that have worked loose, or a switch to strap locks: we handle all three at the shop. Strap-button or strap-lock install is $39. Doweling and re-drilling a loose button is $59. Both are on the repair and setup pricing page. Service is first come, first served. Need it back by a certain date? Let us know at drop-off and we'll do our best to accommodate.

The Drive

Glens Falls is a bustling little city that's growing more and more every day: lots of culture, food and natural beauty. The Shirt Factory is the heart of the East End arts district.

We're downtown. Park in the Cooper Street lot at The Shirt Factory and take the Cooper Street entrance up to the second floor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Where in Glens Falls are you?
A: 71 Lawrence St., inside The Shirt Factory, second floor. Cooper Street entrance, up the stairs.

Q: Does a capo work on a 12-string or a classical?
A: It can, but a wider, stronger capo helps. Bring the guitar in and we'll fit one.

Q: Why does my guitar go out of tune when I put a capo on?
A: Usually the capo clamps too hard or sits crooked, pulling strings sideways. Place it just behind the fret and use only the tension you need.

Q: Can you put a strap button on my acoustic?
A: Yes. Strap-button install is $39, and we place it where the balance works for your guitar.

Q: Leather or nylon?
A: Leather and suede grip the shoulder and stay put; nylon is lighter and cheaper. For a heavy electric played standing, wider and grippier wins. Try both on your guitar here.
