Order matters more than most first pedalboards assume. Drive before delay, delay before reverb, and a tuner first so you are not fixing tuning problems with your ears mid-set. If you want to work that out with somebody, lessons with Travis cover signal chain as readily as they cover songs.

Used pedals get tested before they go on the shelf. If a jack is intermittent, it gets fixed or it does not go out.
