The Platinum Stage is a full acoustic preamp and D.I. small enough to wear on its belt clip: pickup in, a shaped quarter-inch signal out to the amp, and a balanced XLR line to the board without a separate direct box.
The Fishman circuit is a 17-volt discrete Class A preamp with a four-band EQ and sweepable mid, a guitar or bass EQ mode, a low-cut filter, and a phase switch for feedback. A button on the side adds a boost you can set from 3 to 12 dB. The D.I. takes its signal before or after the EQ, and lifts its own ground when the quarter-inch output is also connected. It runs on a 9-volt battery, phantom power from the board, or the optional 910-R adapter.

How is it powered?
A 9-volt battery (not included, about 70 hours), 48-volt phantom power from a mixer through the XLR output, or the optional Fishman 910-R adapter.
Does it work on bass?
Yes. The EQ mode switch has a bass setting that revoices the tone controls for acoustic and electric bass.
Do I still need a D.I. box?
No. The balanced XLR output is the D.I., with a pre/post EQ switch and an automatic ground lift when the quarter-inch output is also in use.
