The EX-4 is a compact Boss effects unit that adds to a pedalboard without replacing anything on it: up to four effects at once from 120 Boss types, plus foot volume, two noise suppressors and an effects loop in the same box.
The effects cover overdrive and distortion, modulation, delay, reverb and bass-tuned types. Gear Suite loads ready settings for each effect with one knob, and a 2.4-inch color screen shows the whole chain. Two footswitches run it stompbox-style in Manual mode or from presets, with 128 factory and 128 user memories. Stereo in and out, a send and return for your own pedals, TRS MIDI and USB-C are on the back, and the Boss PSA adaptor comes in the box.

Does it work for bass?
Yes. Boss includes bass-tuned effects, and the 128 preset memories cover guitar and bass.
Can I put my own pedals in the chain?

Yes, a Boss PSA-S series adaptor is in the box.
