A slicer turns a held chord into a rhythm, and the SL-2 is the SL-20 shrunk to a compact pedal: 88 onboard patterns that chop the signal, many run through internal filters and effects. Duty sets how much of each beat is sound versus silence, attack softens or hardens the edges, and MIDI sync locks it to a track, which is why it lives on keyboard and looper rigs as much as on guitar boards.
Type and variation knobs, attack, duty, tempo and balance, single and dual slicer paths, stereo output that moves the slices across the field, tap tempo, MIDI in on a mini jack, a TRS jack for an expression pedal or footswitch, more patterns from the Boss Tone Studio app, buffered bypass, 9V battery or PSA adapter.
