The Martin D-X1E Koa takes the same stage-rugged dreadnought architecture as the mahogany version and dresses it in koa-pattern high-pressure laminate (HPL) — the swirling figure Hawaiian-built guitars are known for, in a finish that survives temperature swings and travel cases. Koa-pattern HPL top, back, and sides, select hardwood neck with comfort-beveled fingerboard, modernized bridge contour, refined string spacing, Martin E1 electronics with built-in chromatic tuner and volume/tone/phase controls.
Full Martin dreadnought projection in a guitar that doesn't ask to be babied. HPL construction means the D-X1E Koa lives in a trunk between gigs or on a stand by an HVAC vent without warping or finish damage. A working dreadnought that looks like its bigger cousins for a fraction of the price.
Koa pattern. New from Martin. Comes with the softshell case.
