Description

The OM-28 is the Orchestra Model: same body size as the 000-28 but with a full 25.4" scale, the configuration Martin landed on in 1929 for fingerstyle players who wanted dreadnought-level projection in a smaller body. John Mayer, Paul Simon, and Eric Clapton all built signature work around OMs. Mayer's OM-28 John Mayer was a 404-unit run in 2003; Simon's OM-42PS was built to his own spec. Spruce top over East Indian rosewood back and sides, select hardwood neck with the GE Modified Low Oval profile, ebony fingerboard and bridge, 1-3/4" bone nut, 25.4" scale, GE-scalloped X-bracing, bold herringbone top inlay.

The longer scale length pulls extra tension into the strings, giving the OM-28 more headroom under hard picking than a 000-28 and clearer note separation when fingerpicking complex passages. Same rosewood-and-spruce shimmer as the D-28 in a smaller, more comfortable body — the guitar players reach for when the dreadnought feels like too much.

Natural with aging toner. New from Martin. Comes with the molded hardshell case.
