Glens Falls has called itself the Gateway to the Adirondacks for a century, and it still is: Exit 18 is the last real town before the park. Anyone coming down 87 from Schroon Lake, Chestertown, or North Creek passes us on the way to anything else.

Where We Are

We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls. The building went up in 1902 as a men's shirt factory and made shirts until 1996. Today it's home to more than 70 studios, shops and galleries, and now a guitar shop. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. If stairs are difficult or you're bringing in something you don't want to carry up, call or text us and we'll arrange access.

The Adirondacks start at the top of Queensbury: six million acres, the largest park in the contiguous United States, a hundred-odd towns and villages inside it, and Glens Falls is the city in the foothills at the bottom.

The Little Martin

The Little Martin is a scaled-down 0 body on a 23-inch scale, small enough to ride along to a lean-to. Martin offers it with high-pressure laminate or solid wood, and the laminate holds up to humidity and temperature swings. Martin builds it for first-time players, younger players, and travel. The Mountain Climate Problem

Adirondack winters are among the harshest in the Northeast. Temperatures below zero for weeks. Heated indoor air at low humidity for months. The damage this does to an unhumidified acoustic guitar is not theoretical: we see it every spring. Cracked tops, lifted bridges, sharp fret ends, separated binding, neck movement beyond what a truss rod can correct. Authorized Dealer

We're an authorized Martin dealer, so a new Martin bought here carries Martin's Limited Lifetime Warranty for the original owner (one year on the Little Martin and Backpacker). The warranty doesn't transfer, so a used Martin doesn't carry it.
