Sell Your Guitar in the Adirondacks

If you're in the Adirondacks and want to sell a guitar, Paul's Guitar Hideout is in Glens Falls, in the Adirondack foothills. Call or text first at (518) 217-8695, or bring it in during shop hours. We'll usually have a number for you before you leave.

Glens Falls has called itself the Gateway to the Adirondacks for a century, and it still is: Exit 18 is the last real town before the park. Anyone coming down 87 from Schroon Lake, Chestertown, or North Creek passes us on the way to anything else.

The Drive

The Adirondacks start at the top of Queensbury: six million acres, the largest park in the contiguous United States, a hundred-odd towns and villages inside it, and Glens Falls is the city in the foothills at the bottom.

From Lake George about 10 minutes, Warrensburg about 20, Bolton Landing about 30, Chestertown about 30. I-87 Exit 18, then the Cooper Street lot at The Shirt Factory.

Where We Are

Inside Paul's Guitar Hideout in Glens Falls, NY: acoustic guitars on the upper rows, electric guitars and basses below, and amps along the floor

We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls. The building went up in 1902 as a men's shirt factory and made shirts until 1996. Today it's home to more than 70 studios, shops and galleries, and now a guitar shop. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. If stairs are difficult or you're bringing in something you don't want to carry up, call or text us and we'll arrange access.

How It Works

We look the guitar over with you. Offers are based on real-time Reverb sold listings, condition, demand, and what's already on our wall. Cash offers run about 50 percent of real market value. Accept the offer and you're paid by check the same day, or cash the next day. Trading gets you more than cash, case by case, and store credit can be issued the same day as a gift card. Offers hold for 7 days. Full terms on the sell and trade policy page.

Rather sell it yourself? You can definitely make more that way, and we'll give you a free consultation on how to sell it. Start with how to sell your guitar for the most money.

If you want a sense of the number before you drive over, read how much is my guitar worth.

Trade It Instead

If you'd rather have a different guitar than cash, we evaluate it in person and apply credit toward the new purchase. More on the sell or trade page.

What to Bring

The guitar and anything that came with it: case, tags, paperwork. A complete package is easier to sell on, and we factor it in.

When the Deal Is Final

Once we agree on a price, payment or store credit is issued, and the instrument has been transferred to Paul's Guitar Hideout, the transaction is final. Make sure you're comfortable with the offer before accepting it.
