9N down the west side of the lake to the village, then 87 south, about thirty minutes. Bolton is a summer town, and a guitar left in an unheated lake house over the winter comes out in spring with sharp fret ends and a dry top. Bring it down before it goes back up.

One we carry is the Martin OM-28. Spruce top, East Indian rosewood back and sides, 000-14 Fret body, 25.4" scale, 1 3/4" nut, Golden Era (GE) Modified Low Oval, High-Performance Taper neck.

Bolton Landing has an opera museum: the Sembrich, the lakeside teaching studio of Metropolitan Opera soprano Marcella Sembrich, with concerts every summer.

The Drive

Bolton Landing is a lake town inside the park, on the west shore of Lake George with the Schroon River on the far side of the town, the kind of place families have been coming back to for two hundred years.

About 30 minutes: 9N down the lake to Lake George village, then Route 9 or I-87 south to Glens Falls. Park in the Cooper Street lot at The Shirt Factory.

The Little Martin

For a guitar that lives on a boat or at a camp, the Little Martin is Martin's smallest: a modified 0 body on a 23-inch scale. Where We Are

We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls. The building went up in 1902 as a men's shirt factory and made shirts until 1996. Today it's home to more than 70 studios, shops and galleries, and now a guitar shop. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. If stairs are difficult or you're bringing in something you don't want to carry up, call or text us and we'll arrange access.

What's on the Wall

6 Standard Series Martins are on the wall as of October 25, 2026. Road Series models when the budget is tighter. Occasional 15 Series all-mahogany guitars with a warmer, drier voice. If you're driving over for a specific model, call first and we'll hold it for you. If it's not on the floor, we can usually order it.

Body Size

The biggest choice in a Martin purchase is body size, and it's the one a spec sheet can't decide for you. A dreadnought projects hard. A 000 is tighter and fingerstyle-friendly. An OM has the 000 body with a longer scale length. You figure out which fits you by playing them back to back. Plan an hour if you're seriously comparing.

Humidity

Every Martin that leaves here leaves with a humidity conversation. Upstate winters drop indoor humidity hard, and a solid-wood top shrinks as it dries. Humidifier, hygrometer, above 45% in the case. Authorized Dealer

We're an authorized Martin dealer, so a new Martin bought here carries Martin's Limited Lifetime Warranty for the original owner (one year on the Little Martin and Backpacker). The warranty doesn't transfer, so a used Martin doesn't carry it.
