From the Wall: The XS-100 Poly Shifter

The XS-100 is a whammy, a capo and a drop-tuner in one pedal, and what Boss's new algorithms change is that the shifted note keeps the character of the guitar instead of turning glassy, with no lag on chords. The treadle glides up or down four octaves, the effect footswitch triggers a set shift, and the tune-down switch retunes the whole instrument. Onboard memories, a thru jack for the dry signal, a TRS jack for two external footswitches or a second expression pedal, USB-C and MIDI in and out. About 3 pounds 12 ounces.

We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls, one of the more interesting buildings in the region. It's a converted 1902 shirt mill that's become a hub for artists, makers, craftspeople, and independent businesses. Painters, photographers, woodworkers, jewelers, and now a guitar shop. The building has a creative energy that fits what we do. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. The Drive

Bolton Landing is a lake town inside the park, on the west shore of Lake George with the Schroon River on the far side of the town, the kind of place families have been coming back to for two hundred years.

About 30 minutes: 9N down the lake to Lake George village, then Route 9 or I-87 south to Glens Falls. Park in the Cooper Street lot at The Shirt Factory.
