The county line is the Hudson. Cross at Fort Edward or Hudson Falls and you're in Glens Falls in ten minutes; from Greenwich or Cambridge it's closer to thirty.

One we carry is the Martin GPC-X2E. Spruce top, cocobolo HPL back and sides, GPC-14 Fret body, 25.4" scale, 1 3/4" nut, PA Profile, High-Performance Taper neck, Martin E-1 electronics.

Washington County is long and narrow and runs down the Vermont line. Its seat is Fort Edward.

The Drive

Washington County is the farm county next door to the east, long and narrow, running down the Vermont line from Lake Champlain to the Batten Kill, with the county seat in Fort Edward.

Cross the river from Hudson Falls or Fort Edward and you're here in about 5 minutes. Park in the Cooper Street lot at The Shirt Factory.

The Junior Series

The Junior Series keeps a full 24.9-inch scale on a compact body, so it plays like a full-size guitar without the dreadnought bulk. Martin builds it with solid spruce or sapele and Martin E1 electronics with an onboard tuner, and points it at smaller-framed players and anyone whose shoulder doesn't like a big body. Where We Are

We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls. The building went up in 1902 as a men's shirt factory and made shirts until 1996. Today it's home to more than 70 studios, shops and galleries, and now a guitar shop. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. If stairs are difficult or you're bringing in something you don't want to carry up, call or text us and we'll arrange access.

What's on the Wall

6 Standard Series Martins are on the wall as of November 6, 2026. Road Series models when the budget is tighter. Occasional 15 Series all-mahogany guitars with a warmer, drier voice. If you're driving over for a specific model, call first and we'll hold it for you. If it's not on the floor, we can usually order it.

Body Size

The biggest choice in a Martin purchase is body size, and it's the one a spec sheet can't decide for you. A dreadnought projects hard. A 000 is tighter and fingerstyle-friendly. An OM has the 000 body with a longer scale length. You figure out which fits you by playing them back to back. Plan an hour if you're seriously comparing.

Humidity

Every Martin that leaves here leaves with a humidity conversation. Upstate winters drop indoor humidity hard, and a solid-wood top shrinks as it dries. Humidifier, hygrometer, above 45% in the case. Authorized Dealer

We're an authorized Martin dealer, so a new Martin bought here carries Martin's Limited Lifetime Warranty for the original owner (one year on the Little Martin and Backpacker). The warranty doesn't transfer, so a used Martin doesn't carry it.
