Alnico 2 or Alnico 5

The two magnets on our wall differ. Alnico 2, in the Seth Lover and Antiquity sets, is the softer magnet: a smoother top end and a vintage wind that keeps the output low so the amp does the work. Alnico 5, in the JB and the Quarter Pound sets, is the stronger one: more output, a crisper top and a tighter low end. Neither is better; one is the vintage sound and the other is the modern one.

Where We Are

We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls, one of the more interesting buildings in the region. It's a converted 1902 shirt mill that's become a hub for artists, makers, craftspeople, and independent businesses. Painters, photographers, woodworkers, jewelers, and now a guitar shop. The building has a creative energy that fits what we do. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. If stairs are difficult or you're bringing in something you don't want to carry up, call or text us and we'll arrange access.

The Drive

Washington County is the farm county next door to the east, long and narrow, running down the Vermont line from Lake Champlain to the Batten Kill, with the county seat in Fort Edward.

Cross the river from Hudson Falls or Fort Edward and you're here in about 5 minutes. Park in the Cooper Street lot at The Shirt Factory.
