Where We Are

We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls, one of the more interesting buildings in the region. It's a converted 19th century textile mill that's become a hub for artists, makers, craftspeople, and independent businesses. Painters, photographers, woodworkers, jewelers, and now a guitar shop. The building has a creative energy that fits what we do. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. If you need assistance, give us a call and we'll come down.

What's on the Wall

We regularly stock Standard Series Martins: D-18, D-28, 000-28, OM-28. Road Series models when we have them — Martin voice at a lower price point. Occasional 15 Series all-mahogany guitars: warmer, drier voice.

Inventory rotates. If you're driving down for a specific model, call first. If it's not on the floor, we can usually order it in on a 3–4 week turnaround direct from Nazareth.

Body Size Is the Thing to Figure Out

The biggest choice in a Martin purchase is body size. A D-18 and a 000-18 have nearly identical specs except body, and they sound and feel different. Dreadnought projects hard with a strummed pick. 000 is tighter, more focused, better for fingerstyle. OM has the 000 body with a longer scale length.

You figure this out by playing them side by side. That's the point of an in-person Martin shop.

Humidity

Every Martin that leaves here leaves with a humidity conversation. Upstate New York winters drop indoor humidity hard in January and February — Martins respond fast to that. If you want a full $79 setup dialed to your preferences before taking the guitar home, we can do that — usually same-day or short turnaround.
