Paul's Guitar Hideout is about 10 minutes south of Queensbury on Route 9 in Glens Falls. Used guitar inventory across a range of budgets. Every used guitar gets set up on the bench before it goes on the wall, and the bench's work is documented publicly in the Repair Vault.

Queensbury wraps around Glens Falls on three sides, so for most of it we're closer than the mall. Route 9 at the Aviation Road light, past the mall, and you're at the Shirt Factory in about ten minutes.

Where We Are

We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls. The building went up in 1902 as a men's shirt factory and made shirts until 1996. Today it's home to more than 70 studios, shops and galleries, and now a guitar shop. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. If stairs are difficult or you're bringing in something you don't want to carry up, call or text us and we'll arrange access.

Queensbury is a suburb of Glens Falls and one of the last bastions of commerce and population before the Adirondacks.

What We See on Trade-Ins

A used guitar that's lived in an Upstate home through a real winter shows it. Electrics come in with fret ends you can feel: the fretboard shrinks in January air and the fret wire doesn't. Acoustics show up with the action gone high, the top sunk around the bridge, sometimes a crack running with the grain. Forced air, woodstoves, and baseboard heat all do the same thing: they pull indoor humidity hard for weeks at a time. That's why every used guitar we take in gets checked before it goes on the floor, and why the ones that need it get a setup before they're priced. First Guitar

For a younger beginner: we offer 3/4-size electrics and smaller-body acoustics that fit hands and arms still growing into a full-size guitar. Trade-In

Buying Used: Neck Straightness

Sight down the neck from the body toward the headstock. It should be mostly straight with a slight forward bow. A severe bow or backbow is a red flag. It's on our used guitar buying checklist, the list we'd run through ourselves before buying anything.
