Used Guitars Near Queensbury, NY

Paul's Guitar Hideout is about 10 minutes south of Queensbury on Route 9 in Glens Falls. Used guitar inventory across a range of budgets.

Where We Are

We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls, one of the more interesting buildings in the region. It's a converted 19th century textile mill that's become a hub for artists, makers, craftspeople, and independent businesses. Painters, photographers, woodworkers, jewelers, and now a guitar shop. The building has a creative energy that fits what we do. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. If you need assistance, give us a call and we'll come down.

What's on the Floor

Inventory varies week to week — used guitars come in on trade, get evaluated and set up, and go on the wall when ready. The brands listed below are what's typically here, not a guaranteed list. Call or check the site for what's in stock today.

Fender, Gibson, Martin, Yamaha, Squier, Epiphone, Takamine, and more. Used electrics, acoustics, and basses.

What We See on Trade-Ins

A used guitar that's lived in an Upstate home through a real winter shows it. Electrics come in with fret ends you can feel — the fretboard shrinks in January air and the fret wire doesn't. Acoustics show up with the action gone high, the top sunk around the bridge, sometimes a crack running with the grain. Forced air, woodstoves, and baseboard heat all do the same thing: they pull indoor humidity hard for weeks at a time. That's why every used guitar we take in gets checked before it goes on the floor, and why the ones that need it get a setup before they're priced. A used guitar that plays right in February plays right in July.

First Guitar

For a younger beginner: we offer 3/4-size electrics and smaller-body acoustics that fit hands and arms still growing into a full-size guitar. A full-size guitar can also be appropriate depending on the player, bringing the beginner in is the best way to figure out which way to go. See the first guitar help page.

Trade-In

If you have a guitar to trade toward something newer, call or text first at (518) 217-8695, or bring it in during shop hours. We'll usually have a number for you before you leave, applied toward the new purchase. Not sure what it's worth? How to figure out what your guitar is worth.
