Guitar Setup Near Saratoga Springs, NY

Thirty minutes north of Saratoga on I-87. $79 standard, $99 specialty (Floyd Rose, 12-string, classical). Drop off during shop hours, no appointment.

Where We Are

We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls, one of the more interesting buildings in the region. It's a converted 19th century textile mill that's become a hub for artists, makers, craftspeople, and independent businesses. Painters, photographers, woodworkers, jewelers, and now a guitar shop. The building has a creative energy that fits what we do. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. If you need assistance, give us a call and we'll come down.

What a Setup Includes

Truss rod to correct relief. Nut slots checked and filed if high. Saddle action dialed to your preference. Intonation verified at the 12th fret. Fretboard conditioned when it's dry. Fresh strings installed. More on what a setup covers and why: what a guitar setup includes and why it matters.

Turnaround depends on what's already in the queue. We tell you the real timing at drop-off and turn each one as soon as we can.

Standard vs. Specialty

Standard, $79: Most electrics, most acoustics, most basses. Full setup, fresh strings.

Specialty, $99: Floyd Rose and other double-locking tremolos, 12-strings, classicals. The extra covers the additional setup time these instruments need.

Cadence

For acoustics in this region, two setups a year (spring and fall) keeps the guitar dialed through both humidity directions. For electrics, one annual setup is usually enough unless you change gauges or tunings. Full regional framework: the Adirondack guitar player's seasonal maintenance checklist.

The Drive

I-87 north, Exit 18 or 19. Parking in the Cooper Street lot at the Shirt Factory. Drop-off is a few minutes. We look at the guitar with you, confirm standard or specialty, give you a pickup window.
