Where We Are
We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls. The building went up in 1902 as a men's shirt factory and made shirts until 1996. Today it's home to more than 70 studios, shops and galleries, and now a guitar shop. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. If stairs are difficult or you're bringing in something you don't want to carry up, call or text us and we'll arrange access.
Hudson Falls is right next door to the east, over the line in Washington County: a village with a green in the middle of its business district and the Feeder Canal trail running through it. Fort Edward is down Route 4 from there, the county seat, where the Champlain Canal comes into the Hudson and the train still stops.

How Lessons Work
Travis listens to what you want and builds a plan for it. He'll work on the songs you actually want to play, the foundation underneath them, technique, riffs, songwriting, or getting ready to perform, whatever the goal is. The first session is about where you're starting and where you want to go.
Get the Guitar Set Up Before You Start
Living close enough to drop in without planning isn't always a good thing. It means the guitar never gets brought in for a setup until it's unplayable. High action is the single biggest reason beginners think they can't learn. It's not that guitar is hard, it's that their particular guitar is hard. A $79 setup before the first lesson is the difference between a student who practices and a student who doesn't. If you're buying a first guitar and you live five minutes away, come in first.
Buying first, then booking? Each new guitar under $300 on the wall is listed with its price, and the beginner page covers the kid-sized question too.
When the Guitar Is the Problem
Learning is harder than it needs to be when the instrument itself is fighting you. Strings that sit unnecessarily high, unstable tuning, an uncomfortable neck, or a guitar that simply isn't a good physical fit can make a beginner assume the problem is their playing.
