From the Wall: The Dunlop Pivot Capo

The Pivot Capo fixes the sharp, buzzy chords a spring capo gives on a fat neck or a flat board. The neck side pivots and centers itself on the back of the neck, so the pressure is even across the strings, and a low-resistance thumb gear sets that pressure exactly instead of clamping as hard as a spring can. The pad is shaped to the fretboard radius. The Classical version has a flat pad for the flat board and low tension of a nylon-string guitar.

Where We Are

We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls, one of the more interesting buildings in the region. It's a converted 1902 shirt mill that's become a hub for artists, makers, craftspeople, and independent businesses. Painters, photographers, woodworkers, jewelers, and now a guitar shop. The building has a creative energy that fits what we do. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. If stairs are difficult or you're bringing in something you don't want to carry up, call or text us and we'll arrange access.

The Drive

Hudson Falls is right next door to the east, over the line in Washington County: a village with a green in the middle of its business district and the Feeder Canal trail running through it. Fort Edward is down Route 4 from there, the county seat, where the Champlain Canal comes into the Hudson and the train still stops.
