Compressor and Tremolo

Two effects that old Fender amps did and a board does now. The CS-3, in production since 1986, evens out volume without adding distortion: sustain sets how much compression is applied, attack sets how fast the circuit reacts, clockwise to keep the pick attack, counterclockwise to clamp spikes. The TR-2 is volume going up and down, with a wave knob that runs from the triangle throb of an amp tremolo to the square on-off chop, and a rate that reaches the helicopter settings.

We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls, one of the more interesting buildings in the region. It's a converted 1902 shirt mill that's become a hub for artists, makers, craftspeople, and independent businesses. Painters, photographers, woodworkers, jewelers, and now a guitar shop. The building has a creative energy that fits what we do. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. The Drive

Granville and Whitehall are the far side of Washington County, up against Vermont: Granville is slate country, quarries and a Main Street that turns into a Vermont road at the edge of the village, and Whitehall is the canal town at the bottom of Lake Champlain.

From Granville, Route 149 west to Glens Falls, about 40 minutes. From Whitehall, Route 4 south, about the same. Park in the Cooper Street lot at The Shirt Factory.
