A compressor evens out volume by pulling the loud notes down and lifting the quiet ones, and the CS-3 does it without adding distortion. Set low it is a leveler for clean chords; set high it is the long clean sustain country and funk players run all the time. In production since 1986.
Level, tone, attack and sustain knobs. Sustain sets how much compression is applied; attack sets how fast the circuit reacts, clockwise to keep the pick attack, counterclockwise to clamp spikes. Mono 1/4 inch in and out, buffered bypass, 20 mA on a 9V battery or a PSA adapter.
