Which Pick for Which Job

A thin pick flexes and gives a light, even strum; a thick one moves the string. On the Tortex shelf that runs from .50 for strumming to 1.14 for hard picking and bass. The Jazz III is the small sharp pick for single-note precision. The Flow is the thick pick with a beveled edge that glides instead of catching. If you don't know yet, a variety pack answers it.

Where We Are

We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls, one of the more interesting buildings in the region. It's a converted 1902 shirt mill that's become a hub for artists, makers, craftspeople, and independent businesses. Painters, photographers, woodworkers, jewelers, and now a guitar shop. The building has a creative energy that fits what we do. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. If stairs are difficult or you're bringing in something you don't want to carry up, call or text us and we'll arrange access.

The Drive

Granville and Whitehall are the far side of Washington County, up against Vermont: Granville is slate country, quarries and a Main Street that turns into a Vermont road at the edge of the village, and Whitehall is the canal town at the bottom of Lake Champlain.

From Granville, Route 149 west to Glens Falls, about 40 minutes. From Whitehall, Route 4 south, about the same. Park in the Cooper Street lot at The Shirt Factory.
