Guitar Lessons for Adults in Glens Falls, NY
One-on-one guitar lessons for adults at Paul's Guitar Hideout in Glens Falls, inside The Shirt Factory. Taught by Travis Gray of Wild Adriatic.
Where We Are
We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls, one of the more interesting buildings in the region. It's a converted 19th century textile mill that's become a hub for artists, makers, craftspeople, and independent businesses. Painters, photographers, woodworkers, jewelers, and now a guitar shop. The building has a creative energy that fits what we do. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. If you need assistance, give us a call and we'll come down.
Is It Too Late?
The question almost every adult asks on the way in. No, it's not. People start guitar at thirty, at fifty, at seventy. Guitar isn't a race and it isn't a career path for most people. It's about having fun, expressing yourself, learning something new. None of that has an age limit. Some of the most inspired students we see are adults who finally decided to do the thing they've been thinking about for twenty years. Starting as an adult is different from starting as someone younger, but different isn't worse. Adults are more patient, more focused, and usually know what they actually want to play.

How Lessons Work
Travis listens to what you want and builds a plan for it. He'll work on the songs you actually want to play, the foundation underneath them, technique, riffs, songwriting, getting ready to perform — whatever the goal is. The first session is about where you're starting and where you want to go.
Before the First Lesson
If you don't have a guitar yet, come in first. We have new and used options across a range of prices. A $79 setup on whatever you end up with removes the biggest reason adult beginners get frustrated: a guitar with action so high that clean fretting is physically hard. High action is the usual culprit and it's almost always fixable.
