From the Wall: The MT-2 Metal Zone

The MT-2 is Boss's second most popular drive pedal after the DS-1, and the EQ is why: a three-band active EQ with a sweepable mid, each band good for 15 dB of boost or cut, lets it go from scooped to honking, and two gain stages give it thick, saturated sustain at bedroom volume. It's a metal pedal by name, but the EQ range is wider than the name suggests. Distortion and level knobs, high and low on one stacked knob and the mid on another.

Where We Are

We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls, one of the more interesting buildings in the region. It's a converted 1902 shirt mill that's become a hub for artists, makers, craftspeople, and independent businesses. Painters, photographers, woodworkers, jewelers, and now a guitar shop. The building has a creative energy that fits what we do. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. If stairs are difficult or you're bringing in something you don't want to carry up, call or text us and we'll arrange access.

The Drive

Ballston Spa is the county seat, a small Victorian village five miles south of Saratoga with a downtown you walk: the courthouse crowd on weekdays, the shops and galleries and antique stores the rest of the time.

About 35 minutes: Route 50 or Route 9 to I-87 north, Exit 18. Park in the Cooper Street lot at The Shirt Factory.
