From the Wall: The Antiquity Humbucker Set

The Antiquity set is the Custom Shop's take on a well-worn 1950s P.A.F., aged both cosmetically and magnetically: the alnico 2 bar magnets are weakened the way decades of playing would weaken them, and the nickel silver covers and hardware look the part. No potting means it sits right at the edge of harmonic breakup. 42 AWG plain enamel wire, butyrate bobbins from the original P.A.F. mold, single-conductor push-back braided lead, the bridge wound slightly hotter than the neck.

We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls, one of the more interesting buildings in the region. It's a converted 1902 shirt mill that's become a hub for artists, makers, craftspeople, and independent businesses. Painters, photographers, woodworkers, jewelers, and now a guitar shop. The building has a creative energy that fits what we do. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. If stairs are difficult or you're bringing in something you don't want to carry up, call or text us and we'll arrange access.

Warren County is one city, eleven towns and a lot of forest: Glens Falls in the southeast corner, Queensbury with the county offices, then Lake George, Warrensburg, Bolton and the rest of the park going north.

Glens Falls sits at the southern edge of the county. From Lake George it's about 15 minutes; from Warrensburg about 20; from Bolton Landing about 30. Park in the Cooper Street lot at The Shirt Factory.
