From the Wall: The SY-1

The SY-1 is Boss's guitar synth in a compact pedal with no programming: pick a type and a variation and play, tracked from any guitar or bass with no special pickup. The send/return loop is what makes it a rig rather than a novelty, because the synth voice can run through its own delay and reverb while the guitar stays dry. 121 sounds across eleven types, leads, basses, organs, pads and sequences, an effect and direct knob to blend synth and guitar, and a hold function that sustains the synth voice while you play normal guitar over it.

We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls, one of the more interesting buildings in the region. It's a converted 1902 shirt mill that's become a hub for artists, makers, craftspeople, and independent businesses. Painters, photographers, woodworkers, jewelers, and now a guitar shop. The building has a creative energy that fits what we do. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. Warrensburg is the middle of Warren County, a one-main-street town where the Schroon comes into the Hudson, with the Northway on its east side and the park all around it.
