Guitar Cables Near Clifton Park, NY

Guitar cables near Clifton Park: Paul's Guitar Hideout is about 40 minutes north of Clifton Park on I-87. Nearly forty cables from Ernie Ball, Fender, MXR, Pig Hog, and Strukture, $8.99 to $59.99, in a range of lengths.

Exit 9 to Exit 18, about forty minutes, all Northway. It's a long enough drive that people bring the guitar with them instead of describing it over the phone, which is the right call: we can't quote a setup or a trade on something we haven't seen.

The Drive

Clifton Park is the big Northway suburb at the bottom of Saratoga County, the largest town in the county, twelve miles up from Albany, and a place that mostly grew up after the highway came through.

About 40 minutes north on I-87, Exit 9 to Exit 18. Park in the Cooper Street lot at The Shirt Factory.

From the Wall: Pig Hog PHLIL6

8 mm PVC jacket. Length 6 in each. Connectors: 1/4" right angle, both ends. 4 cables. We carry the Pig Hog PHLIL6 - Lil' Pigs Patch Cables, 6 in 4-Pack at $33.95.

Where We Are

We're on the second floor of The Shirt Factory in Glens Falls. The building went up in 1902 as a men's shirt factory and made shirts until 1996. Today it's home to more than 70 studios, shops and galleries, and now a guitar shop. Use the Cooper Street entrance and take the stairs up. If stairs are difficult or you're bringing in something you don't want to carry up, call or text us and we'll arrange access.

Cables We Stock

The front room at Paul's Guitar Hideout in Glens Falls, NY: strings, cables and picks on the slatwall, pedals in the glass counter, and a leather couch under framed band posters

Ernie Ball, Fender, MXR, Pig Hog, and Strukture, from short patch lengths up to long stage runs, including coiled cables. A cable is the least expensive thing that fixes a crackling rig, so it's the first thing to swap.

When It's Not the Cable

If a new cable doesn't kill the crackle, the output jack usually will. Loose jacks are a repair we do constantly, and a quick one. Bring the guitar in and we'll check it. More on guitar repair.
