This is the Fuzzrocious Cat Tail with the 2nd Distortion mod, built by hand in New Jersey. It's a distortion that goes from overdrive at low gain to what some players call fuzz at the top, the same circuit Fuzzrocious first sold as the Rat Tail, tweaked for guitar and bass. One footswitch turns it on and off, and the other flips between two Distortion knobs, like a low-gain and a high-gain preset.
Volume and Filter sit with the two Distortion knobs across the top. Filter moves from treble to bass as it turns clockwise, with little to no bass loss. The two black knobs below, Clipping 1 and 2, fine-tune how the highs and lows clip. The toggle, on the top end with the jacks, picks silicon diodes, no diodes or LEDs, which Fuzzrocious describes as warm and compressed, loud and uncompressed, and loud and brash. It's true bypass and takes a 9-volt adapter, center negative, with no battery option.
