Description
The Jazzmaster was built for jazz players who ignored it, then got picked up by surf bands and later by anyone who wanted a wide, shimmering single-coil that was not a Strat.
Player II is Fender's Mexico-built working line, and this one runs a simplified control layout rather than the vintage rhythm circuit: master volume, master tone, and a three-way switch. Fewer things to fight on a dark stage.
Alder body, maple neck in a Modern "C" with a slab rosewood fingerboard and white dots, 9.5 inch radius, 22 medium jumbo frets, 25.5 inch scale, synthetic bone nut at 1.650 inches. Two Player Series Alnico 5 Jazzmaster single-coils. The bridge is the Jazzmaster plate fitted with Mustang saddles, which is the standard fix for strings jumping the shallow original saddles.
Where a Strat is bright and focused, the Jazzmaster is wider and darker under the same pick attack.
Aquatone Blue with a 3-ply parchment pickguard. New from Fender. No case or bag included.
