The SD-1 is the 1981 overdrive that still ships on the same circuit four decades later, and asymmetrical clipping is why it sounds like a driven tube amp rather than a fuzz: rich in even-order harmonics, and it follows the pick. A mild-to-moderate drive with a focused midrange and a tight low end, used as often to tighten a high-gain amp as to drive a clean one.
Built on the 1977 OD-1's clipping circuit with an added active tone control. Drive, tone and level knobs, mono 1/4 inch in and out, buffered bypass, 10 mA on a 9V battery or a PSA adapter.
New from Boss. Comes with a 9V battery; the PSA adapter is sold separately.
