A Fender Japanese Telecaster came in for a setup and an electronics cleaning.
What Came In
A Japanese-made Fender Telecaster in for a full setup. The electronics also needed attention.
What We Found
The guitar needed the standard setup pass: truss rod, saddle height, intonation, and pickup height. The electronics needed cleaning.
What We Did
Pulled the control cover and sprayed out the electronics. Removed the pickguard to adjust the truss rod and set the neck pickup height. Set the saddles and intonation, then finished by setting pickup height. About 50 minutes on the bench.
Result
A nice Japanese Tele playing the way it should.
Worth Knowing
Telecaster electronics sit under a control plate that makes them easy to clean without much disassembly, so a scratchy pot or a crackly switch is usually a quick fix rather than a sign of a bigger problem.
On a setup, pickup height is the step most people skip, and it is the one that most affects how balanced the guitar sounds from string to string.
Bring It In
Got a Tele that needs dialing in, or electronics that have gotten noisy? Bring it in. Standard setup is $79 and we'll get it back in your hands as soon as possible.
