The Martin D-X2E Ziricote Burst is the upgraded X Series dreadnought: solid Sitka spruce top with a vintage-style burst finish, over ziricote-pattern high-pressure laminate (HPL) back and sides. The burst-finish spruce top is the visual difference from the all-HPL D-X1E line; the solid top is where you hear it, with more open response under fingerstyle and richer overtones when you dig in. Abalone-pattern rosette, select hardwood neck with comfort-beveled fingerboard, refined string spacing, Martin E1 electronics with built-in chromatic tuner and volume/tone/phase controls.
Ziricote-pattern HPL gives the back and sides a dark, swirling figure that reads vintage on stage. HPL construction means the D-X2E Burst doesn't fight humidity or temperature like a solid-back dreadnought would — gig, travel, leave in the car, the guitar holds.
