The 000-17 is what the 15 Series grows into: same all-mahogany construction, refined throughout. Mahogany top, back, and sides in Martin's Dark Mahogany satin finish, ebony fingerboard and bridge, select hardwood neck with the GE Modified Low Oval profile, 1 3/4" bone nut, 24.9" short scale. GE-scalloped X-bracing borrowed from the Modern Deluxe line gives the 000-17 a more open, responsive feel than the older 17 Series.
The all-mahogany construction delivers the same dry, woody midrange the 15M is known for, with the short 24.9" scale loosening string tension for easier fretting and more bloom under fingerstyle. The 14-fret 000 body is the size most fingerstyle players settle on once they've tried a few. A working guitar that doesn't ask to be the center of attention.
