A 1969 Gibson J-45 — the workhorse Gibson flattop, square-shoulder era, worn in exactly the way fifty-five years of playing earns. Serial 896248 sits in Gibson's 1968–69 block; the square-shoulder body makes it a '69. This one has had the major maintenance done — the expensive, do-it-right work that saves the next owner from ever thinking about it: a hand-carved Brazilian rosewood bridge by J.M. Stewart Guitars & Fine Woodworking in Saratoga Springs, NY, a new maple bridge plate in place of the factory plywood, and the adjustable saddle converted to bone. The neck angle is healthy — no reset needed anytime soon. This is the singer's guitar — warm, dry midrange thump that sits behind a voice like it was designed to, because it was. Plays and sounds the way a J-45 should.
Sunburst finish. Very good condition, shown in the photos. Comes with the case shown.
